Hi! I’m Xavier Armand, co-founder and CEO at Vaan Group, a 55-person design & development agency known for crafting exceptional digital experiences across e-commerce and brand design. Our clients include household names as well as some of the most exciting brands in the D2C space.
At Vaan, we’re known for creating innovative solutions that meet client needs while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in e-commerce. We specialize exclusively in Shopify solutions, and we’re now looking for a Shopify Solutions Consultant to join our team. This role will play a pivotal part in our sales process by bridging the gap between client needs and the services we offer, without requiring hands-on coding expertise (though it’s a bonus if you have it).
This role is part of our Commercial team, working alongside our Director of Growth, Marketing Manager, and me (CEO). You'll be joining pitches, helping potential clients identify opportunities, translating their business challenges into Shopify-based solutions, and ensuring smooth communication with our development team.
Your focus will be on understanding client needs, crafting clear solutions, and enabling our sales team to close more deals. Given our growing integration of AI into both our operations and client work, familiarity with generative AI tools, automation workflows, and the evolving AI-commerce landscape is strongly preferred. Candidates who can identify where AI can enhance efficiency, creativity, or client outcomes will thrive in this role.
The Role:
In this role, you will:
Lead discovery conversations: Work closely with potential clients to uncover their business challenges and identify how Shopify can solve them.
Collaborate on sales pitches: Partner with the sales team to craft and present compelling solutions tailored to client needs.
Bridge strategy and execution: Translate client requirements into actionable insights for the development team to ensure alignment and clarity.
Simplify technical concepts: Communicate Shopify’s capabilities and potential solutions in a way that resonates with non-technical stakeholders.
Showcase solutions: Work with the team to develop simple proof-of-concept ideas or visual aids (no coding required, but coding experience is a bonus).
Stay informed: Keep up-to-date with Shopify’s ecosystem, trends, and best practices to provide clients with innovative solutions.
Travel required: You’ll represent Vaan at select industry conferences, client events, and intimate meetups across the U.S. (and occasionally abroad), helping to grow our presence and deepen client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct discovery calls and workshops to understand client needs.
Develop and present tailored Shopify-based solutions to potential clients during pitches.
Collaborate with the sales team to craft detailed proposals that outline strategic approaches and project roadmaps.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them understand the value of Shopify’s ecosystem and Vaan Group’s capabilities.
Ensure a seamless handoff from sales to development by documenting requirements and communicating effectively with the technical team.
What We’re Looking For:
E-commerce expertise: Strong understanding of Shopify and its ecosystem, including apps, integrations, and best practices. Shopify Plus experience is highly preferred.
Sales alignment: Previous experience in pre-sales, consulting, or a client-facing role within a digital agency or similar environment.
Client-focused mindset: Ability to connect with clients, understand their challenges, and craft solutions that align with their business goals.
Communication skills: Clear, persuasive, and accessible communication, especially when explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strategic thinking: Ability to identify client needs and recommend solutions that balance technical feasibility, business goals, and profitability.
Familiarity with project workflows: Understanding how Shopify projects are scoped and delivered, even if you’re not doing the hands-on development work.
No-code welcome: Coding experience is a bonus but not required for success in this role.
Nice to Have:
Experience working with digital design and development teams within Shopify projects.
Familiarity with performance optimization and scalability concepts within the Shopify ecosystem.
